Friends hosted a wonderful event on January 21 that celebrated our 30-year history of supporting the library with events hosted, managed or supported by the volunteers of Friends of Strathcona County Library. Our success is a tribute to all those who have so generously given of their time and talents over the years. Friends contributions have helped the library to remain a valued community resource with enhanced services and programs. This event was funded entirely through a grant which was received from County Council and is also an expression of their appreciation of the volunteers in Strathcona County.
For those of you who came to the event, it was great to see past and present volunteers re-connecting. For those who were not able to participate, our thanks go out to you as well as you are also part of our success. Friends needs friends and we hope you will continue to support our fundraising events as we continue the tradition of supporting our library.
Look for our upcoming 50/50 St Patrick’s Day raffle event. This event will help us to fund a new Wonder Book collection for children. Make sure you get tickets for a chance to win and also to help the library fund this anticipated program. Mark your calendars for February 17 when the raffle goes live. Let your family and friends know that the pot of gold could be theirs!
