Donations
Since 1988, the Friends of Strathcona County Library Society have contributed over $600,000 to the Strathcona County Library. We focus our fundraising efforts on key initiatives determined by the Library’s annual needs and our own ideas about where our contributions can make the most impact.
While government funding covers much of the operational budget and large donors contribute to major projects, it’s the smaller, often unfunded enhancements that can elevate the library experience. That’s where Friends come in—we make these significant improvements possible. Friends have added to many of the library’s physical and online collections, expanding the variety and number of materials available. We’ve also funded children’s furniture, an interactive floor projector, Ukrainian language materials, and more. To learn more about these projects, and many others, check out our current and past projects here.
You can donate to a specific fund or contribute to our general fund. We also host annual 50/50 raffles every spring. We will advertise these raffles by email and social media but they will also be linked on this page. As a registered charity and non-profit organization, we provide tax receipts for donations and submit annual returns to the CRA. For more information, please get in touch with us at treasurer@friendsscl.ca. If you prefer, you can also donate to the Strathcona County Library here. As library lovers, we welcome any support for the library.
