Friends of Strathcona County Library Society provides volunteer opportunities year-round. Engage in Friends activities and support Library events such as quarterly book sales and the Fall Feast of Words. Whether you can contribute a little or a lot, there’s flexibility without a long-term commitment. Volunteering with Friends offers a chance to connect with fellow book lovers and make a meaningful impact on library services and events.
Additionally, we are always seeking dedicated individuals to join our board, offering a chance to volunteer with a greater commitment and influence the direction of our organization.

Board of Directors
In 2023, the Friends of Strathcona County Library board transitioned to a proactive working board. It now includes traditional Officer roles and dedicated Coordinators who actively manage specific responsibilities. If you’re interested in joining the board, please click here to view a list of open positions with our Board of Directors. We also welcome Director-at-Large board members or individuals who wish to contribute to specific events or committees.

Volunteers play a vital role for both the Friends society and the Strathcona County Library. Your personal information will be used to keep you informed about events you’ve signed up for, upcoming events and volunteer opportunities, and new postings on our website.
We will only share your personal information with the Friends Library Liaison of the Strathcona County Library if you give us permission to do so, and only when volunteers are needed for library events. The Library Liaison will only contact you to confirm details for that specific library event, you will not be added to any Strathcona County Library email lists. We do not share your information with any other parties. By signing up to volunteer on this site, you agree that the Friends of the Strathcona County Library or Friends Library Liaison may contact you occasionally as described above.
