A huge thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and helped grow this event into something even more special in its second year. With more participants, more sponsors, and more funds raised, this year’s event showed what a connected, book-loving community can do.
Some highlights from this year included:
- Someone discovering not one, but two copies of a book they love. Even though they already owned it, they grabbed one to share with friends and they kept checking back to see who picked up the other copy so they could talk about it together.
- Kids having the absolute best time crafting, playing games, spending their loonies on bookmark/sticker packs, and proudly picking out new-to-them books.
- A guest saying they were in no rush to leave because the books kept circulating. They said they could browse again and again and find something new.
- A grandma who brought her granddaughter with plans to have a quick visit but they ended up staying much lover. Her granddaughter was having such a good time so she settled into a sunny window seat to read. She said the hum around her was so calming.
- A vintage 1950’s cookbook about how to win him over through his stomach, found a new life as a conversation piece that is now proudly displayed at home.
We also had amazing support for our with coffee and cookie donations from Roasti Coffee company and Confetti Sweets (two of Sherwood Park’s best) but also with raffle prize donations from Lavender & Lace Boutique, 70 Acre Brew Co., Riveted By Design, Muscle Elements Health & Wellness, Kyle Kasawski NDP and even more private donors! It’s so meaningful to see local businesses and individuals invested in community initiatives.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing volunteers, your time and enthusiasm are so appreciated.
To our generous donors and volunteers: we couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for helping make this event bigger and better this year.
We’re already looking forward to next year! If you attended, we’d love to hear, what was your favourite find or moment?
